Mayor, team kick starts development works at Jogi Gate, visits Bhagwati Nagar

Jammu, Apr 15: Continuing his endeavour to provide better development & civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Dinesh Gupta, Councillor of ward no. 18, Anil Kumar Masoom, Councillor of ward no. 10, Gopal Gupta, Councillor of ward no. 5 and Madam Ritu Chowdhary, Councillor of ward no. 7 conducted an extensive tour of cremation ground at Jogi Gate Jammu and took stock of the various ongoing development activities being undertaken by JMC in & around the premises of Jogi gate cremation ground also known as “Hari Ghat”
R.K. Mahajan, Executive Engineer, Raj Khajuria, Assistant Executive Engineer, Vishal Kotwal, Junior Engineer of Division –I and other supervisory staff of Health Section as well as Surinder Kumar, Vijay Kumar along with other representatives of Jogi Gate Cremation Ground development committee members also accompanied the mayor during the tour.
Mayor was apprised by the concerned Engineering wing that development work of 1st phase which consists of construction of well furnished two number of sheds, protection wall and other allied works has already been completed while the work comprising of construction of deep drains for smooth flow of water coming from roadside as well as laying of beautiful tiles and marbles in the specified areas within the premises with an estimate cost of Rs 34 lacs has been started today for the convenience of general public who comes here in large numbers from all walks of life to attend the last rites of their known deceased persons.
Besides this, number of shady trees as well as development of parks with more and more greenery is also being undertaken for providing eco friendly atmosphere.
Later Mayor alongwith Sh. Kishore Kumar, Executive Engineer Division –II, S. Harvinder Singh Executive Engineer –V, concerned Assistant Executive Engineers and Junior Engineers also conducted tour in the Bhagwati Nagar & its adjoining areas also reviewed the various development activities being undertaken by the Engineer wing for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
He issued on spot directions to them to prepare a detail estimate for beautifying the Chowk/rotary including much needed development activities, installation of the proposed Murti of Baba Amarnath Ji near fourth bridge Bhagwati Nagar of ward no. 14 which has been proposed by the JMC.
