J&K administration hijacked by BJP: Harsh Dev
4/15/2021 11:54:46 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 15: Alleging politicization of bureaucracy in J&K, Harsh Dev Singh JKNP Chairman and former Minister said that the J&K administration was being used and abused by the BJP for furtherance of its political prospects and to bog down the opposition parties that attempted to expose its misdeeds. He said that a culture of quid pro quo had emerged in J&K where BJP was favouring the bureaucrats with prized postings and the latter helping out the former in its political diversification.
The instances of such condescendence on the part of BJP and the present administration are too many to recount. And each outdoes the other in brazen bias and prejudice, said Singh while addressing a press conference here today.
Pointing towards the illegal occupation of govt accommodation and Ministerial bungalows by the BJP leaders and refusal of the administration to evict them despite categorical orders of the High Court only several the extent to which the present bureaucrats could go in their sycophancy of the saffron leaders.
Further in the recently hold elections of DDCs and even BDCs, several elected candidates crossed floor and defected to BJP and its allies in violation of the spirit of anti-defection law. Several officers have been openly seen promoting the political philosophy of BJP with none to take note despite several representations made against them. There are officers who have been asking the people to approach them through BJP leaders in view of the favours conferred upon them by the BJP's proxy rulers in J&K. Not only the civil but police administration is being abused by such BJP leaders
Pointing towards the physical assaults on several NPP workers including females by ruling party leaders during recent elections, Singh regretted that no cognizance was taken by the biased police despite repeated complaints due to pressure mounted by BJP leaders.
