| Massive green felling reported from Mingli, Afti areas of Marwah Forest Division | | |  Asif Iqbal Naik

Kishtwar, June 6: The videos and photos available with the Early Times shows massive destruction of green trees in Mingli and Afti Forest areas of Marwah Forest Division in Kishtwar District forcing the authorities to act tough by putting the concerned forest guard under suspension besides ordering an inquiry into the matter.
As per the details available with Early, the forest damage was reported in compartment number 47/M of Mingli forests and DFO Marwah immediately directed the Range officer Marwah to take cognizance of the reports following which Range officer Marwah and his team reached the spot and seized 38 No’s of fir dry sawn timber having 62.60 CFT.of Fir timber .
Besides this DFO Marwah already constitute a team headed by Assistant Director FPF to comb the entire Mingli forest and ascertain culprits and directed him to submit detailed enquiry report within two days.
Speaking to Early Times, DFO Marwah Vijay Kumar said that he will personally visit the area adding that guilty will be booked under relevant sections of the law. In response to reports that a local police official is involved DFO Marwah said that the matter will taken up with senior police officials adding that law will take its own course. |
