SRINAGAR, June 6: Jammu & Kashmir reported 1,440 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 300490; following 23 fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus in the union territory reached 4,074. Srinagar district reported 264 new cases followed by Budgam district 145 cases, Kulgam district 140 cases, Baramulla district 136 cases, Pulwama district 123 cases, Kupwara district 103 cases, Anantnag district 86 cases, Jammu and Poonch districts 70 cases each, Doda district 47 cases, Rajouri district 46 cases, Ganderbal district 45 cases, Bandipora district 40 cases, Ramban district 27 cases, Kathua district 21 cases, Shopian district 20 cases, Reasi district 18 cases, Samba district 16 cases, Udhampur district 13 cases and Kishtwar district 10 cases. Jammu, Budgam, Pulwama and Kathua districts each reported three fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag districts two deaths each and a death each in Kupwara, Bandipora, Shopian, Rajouri & Poonch districts. So far 2,093 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while in Jammu division 1,981 virus related deaths have taken place so far. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,440 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 338 from Jammu division and 1,102 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 00,490. Also 23 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, eight from Jammu division and 15 from Kashmir division. Moreover, 3,099 more COVID-19 patients have been recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 920 from Jammu division and 2,179 from Kashmir division. Out of 3, 00,490 positive cases, 26,741 are active positive, 2, 69,675 have recovered and 4,074 have died; 1,981 in Jammu division and 2,093 in Kashmir division. Out of 88, 47,766 test results available, 85, 47,276 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 21, 59,888 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 79,829 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 26,741 in isolation and 1, 46,053 in home surveillance. Besides, 19, 03,191 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 66,905 positive cases, 3,212 active positive, 62,895 recovered, 798 deaths; Baramulla has 22,191 positive cases, 2,209 active positive, 19,718 recovered, 264 deaths; Budgam has 21,157 positive cases, 1,578 active positive, 19,386 recovered, 193 deaths; Anantnag has 15,094 positive cases, 3,286 active positive, 11,627 recovered, 181 deaths; Pulwama has 13,910 positive cases, 1,788 active positive, 11,946 recovered, 176 deaths. “Kupwara has 12,733 positive cases, 1,262 active positive, 11,322 recovered, 149 deaths; Kulgam has 10,387 positive cases, 1,349 active positive, 8,930 recovered, 108 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,061 positive cases, 821 active positive, 8,170 recovered, 70 deaths; Bandipora has 8,734 positive cases, 645 active positive, 7,992 recovered, 97 deaths and Shopian has 5,429 positive cases, 971 active positive, 4,401 recovered, 57 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 51,556 positive cases, 4,033 active positive, 46,426 recovered, 1,097 deaths; Udhampur has 10,817 positive cases, 426 active positive, 10,263 recovered, 128 deaths; Rajouri has 10,108 positive cases, 846 active positive, 9,068 recovered, 194 deaths; Kathua has 8,958 positive cases, 247 active positive, 8,565 recovered, 146 deaths; Samba has 6,884 positive cases, 845 active positive, 5,925 recovered, 114 deaths. “Doda has 6,049 positive cases, 1,030 active positive, 4,926 recovered, 93 deaths; Poonch has 5,608 positive cases, 1,014 active positive, 4,514 recovered, 80 deaths; Reasi has 5,402 positive cases, 279 active positive, 5,085 recovered, 38 deaths; Ramban has 5,367 positive cases, 636 active positive, 4,675 recovered, 56 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,140 positive cases, 264 active positive, 3,841 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 00,490 positive cases, 21,729 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining a physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
