| Rich tributes paid to Haji Buland Khan on his death anniversary | | |

UDHAMPUR, June 6: Various political parties, religious organizations and others paid rich tributes to Haji Buland Khan on his death anniversary.
“With a resolve to fight against intimidation and humiliation Haji Buland Khan jumped into social activities to bring relief to the suffering people by raising their voice,” said RA Inqlabi president of Guljar and Bakarwal Association, adding that after few months of social activities he joined active politics in 1962 on the request of Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. He said that during this period as a Plebiscite Front activist he was detained in special jail and Central Jail, Jammu and was arrested from Gool. “His political career started as a PRI member when he was elected as chairman of panchayat halqa Thuroo and after that he was elected three times as Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing National Conference,” he said, adding that he also remained a MLC. “He was a great human being and a seasoned politician, we can never forget him,” he maintained. |
