DSK to provide food, assistance to patients from Distt Ramban | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 6: The Dogra Sahayata Kendra (DSK) will make arrangements for providing food and other assistance to patients and their attendants referred to Jammu from District Ramban and other far flung areas, including Ambulance services within the Municipal limits of Jammu. This was disclosed by Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Sahayata Kendra in a statement issued today after holding a joint online Zoom meeting with members of the Ramban Unit of Dogra Sahayata Kendra and its Central Coordination Committee. He said that Dogra Sahayata Kendra will also distribute kits containing masks, hand sanitizing items and information pamphlets, besides creating awareness about SOPs to be followed for prevention of spread of COVID-19 in District Ramban. Charak appreciated the good job done by the District Administration and Health Authorities in Ramban in tackling the crisis, as ascertained from members of the Ramban Unit of the Dogra Sahayata Kendra. Charak, however, expressed distress that despite assurances by the higher authorities, there was no let up in the difficulty and misery being faced by the inhabitants of villages situated along the alignment of the four laning of NH-1A between Ramban and Banihal where the widening work was being done in an unscientific way by unnecessary cutting of hill sides, on a large scale, resulting in destabilization of the hillsides and sinking of the nearby villages. Amongst others who participated in the Zoom meeting included Ajay Khajuria (KAS Retd), Dr (Mrs) Purshottma Sadhotra, Col (Retd) Karan Singh Jamwal, Samar Dev Singh, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Deepak Gupta, Dharam Chand, Prof Sandhur Singh Bhalwal, Shubam Anthal, Surjeet Singh Thakur, Mohit Chand and Suresh Sharma. |
