Jammu, Jun 6: 9th International Art Exhibition (Online) organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu was inaugurated by T S Batra, a senior artist & former principal, Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu, today. Kewal K Sharma, president JKCCA was the guest of honour on the occasion of inaugural ceremony. The exhibition has been dedicated to the front line warriors of Covid- 19 pandemic to acknowledge their services for the cause of humanity. According to O P Sharma, director, JKCCA, ‘JKCCA has made efforts to organize 9th International Art Exhibition (Online), displaying the art of 100 artists of 16 states of the country and other countries of the world, will be a rich tributes to the Front Line Warriors who are working day & night for the wellness of the people of the whole world.’ The exhibition has been divided inti two segments i.e. Invitees’ Section and Artists’ Section. The participants in the artists category include artists from Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, New Delhi, Uttera Khand, Utter Pradesh, Ggujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Maharashtra, Talengana and Karnataka. The artists included in the invitees’ section were V S Rahi and A K Dixit, New Delhi, N D Jamwal, Gokel Dembi, M A Mehboob and Jang S. Verman, J&K, Prof. Sunil Saxena, Prof. (Dr.) Saroj Rani and Dr. Rekha Kakkar, UP, Ashok Gupta, UA, Bandana Nath, Assam, Neena Singh, MR, G Y Gari, AP, and Fareha Zeba and Mini Karim, Bangla Desh.The artists invited for Invitees’ Section are In his message T S Batra said that the works displayed in the exhibition are the collection of expressions of the artists on various themes in different mediums & techniques, and a reflection of what is happening in the world of art at global level. The art works displaying the divergent styles, techniques and expressions by the artists, in varied art genres would be visible in the 9th International Art Exhibition (online), curated by O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA. It may be mentioned here that JKCCA was established way back in 1999. It is a matter of satisfaction that the NGO has so far organized hundreds of art & culture activities within and outside the state. |
