Agencies New Delhi: With the second COVID-19 wave subsiding, several states and Union Territories have decided to ease the COVID-19 lockdown curbs, which were imposed in mid-April, in a phased manner. The Gujarat government eased the lockdown restrictions in the state and allowed offices to function with 100% staff from Monday (June 7, 2021).
Many states like Delhi, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have now begun easing the lockdown restrictions, while other states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttarakhad have decided to keep lockdown curbs in place.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi will start screening children for clinical trials of indigenous home-grown COVID-19 vaccine, Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin from today. This development comes the day after AIIMS Patna started pediatric trials, on children aged between 12 and 18 years old, for Covaxin.
In other developments, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, while slamming Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the 'rampant post-poll violence' in the state, directed the Chief Secretary to brief him about the law and order situation on Monday. |
