Jammu, June 10: A review meeting to ascertain the progress of construction activities on Campus and that of the Institute of Science and Technology at Poonch Campus was held in the Committee room of Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, University of Jammu. At the outset, Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu on his behalf and on behalf of the University of Jammu expressed his deep condolences on the sad demise of some employees or their near and dear ones due to the COVID-19. We pray to God to give strength to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss. Prof Dhar hailed the teaching faculty, officers, staff, scholars and students for their cooperation during the second wave of COVID-19 and for ensuring that the work of paramount importance doesn’t suffer. Now, is time to gear up to cover the backlog in the minimum possible time, of course without lowering the guard against COVID-19, he said. He also emphasised the need for following the SOPs strictly. Er Vidhu Sharma, Superintendent Engineer gave a detailed report of the various works been undertaken in the University and assured that all the projects will be completed in the stipulated period of time. Prof Dhar also took the review of the progress of the work being undertaken in the construction of the Institute of Science and technology at Poonch Campus of Jammu University. He mentioned that this state-of-the-art Institute shall prove to be a boon for raising the quality and standards of teaching in one of the hinterlands of the J&K UT. He expressed gratitude to the Chancellor (Lieutenant Governor) for his patronage. He urged the University Engineers to work with zeal for the timely completion of this project. The meeting was also attended by Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar, Prof Dipanker Sengupta, Director, Poonch Campus,Sh.
