SRINAGAR, June 10: Jammu & Kashmir reported 1,117 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases in the union territory reached 3, 04,866; with 25 fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus reached 4,143. Srinagar district reported 194 new cases followed by Budgam district 121, Baramulla district 100, Kupwara district 81, Pulwama district 77, Anantnag district 74, Kulgam and Doda districts 56 cases each, Ramban district 51, Jammu district 50, Udhampur district 47, Bandipora and Rajouri districts 44 cases each, Ganderbal district 30, Kishtwar district 24, Poonch district 22, Kathua district 16, Samba and Reasi district 11 cases each and Shopian district eight cases. Jammu district reported eight fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by Srinagar district four deaths, Pulwama district three deaths, Anantnag district two deaths and a death each in Baramulla, Ganderbal, Budgam, Rajouri, Udhampur, Samba, Poonch & Reasi districts. So far 2,130 deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while in Jammu 2,013 such deaths have occurred. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,117 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 332from Jammu division and 785 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 04,866. Also 25 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 13 from Jammu division and 12 from Kashmir division. Moreover, 2,363 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 886 from Jammu division and 1,477 from Kashmir division. Out of 3, 04,866 positive cases, 18,581 are active positive, 2, 82,142 have recovered and 4,143 have died; 2,013 in Jammu division and 2,130 in Kashmir division. Out of 90, 35,646 test results available, 87, 30,780 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 22, 03,263 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 75,594 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 18,581 in isolation and 1, 41,189 in home surveillance. Besides, 19, 63,756 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 67,759 positive cases, 2,580 active positive, 64,373 recovered, 806 deaths; Baramulla has 22,498 positive cases, 1,929 active positive, 20,297 recovered, 272 deaths; Budgam has 21,583 positive cases, 1,924 active positive, 20,090 recovered, 199 deaths; Anantnag has 15,358 positive cases, 891 active positive, 14,278 recovered, 189 deaths; Pulwama has 14,231 positive cases, 1,353 active positive, 12,698 recovered, 180 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,056 positive cases, 1,011 active positive, 11,895 recovered, 150 deaths; Kulgam has 10,577 positive cases, 1,090 active positive, 9,378 recovered, 109 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,203 positive cases, 600 active positive, 8,532 recovered, 71 deaths; Bandipora has 8,873 positive cases, 394 active positive, 8,328 recovered, 97 deaths and Shopian has 5,474 positive cases, 490 active positive, 4,927 recovered, 57 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 51,878 positive cases, 2,694 active positive, 48,072 recovered, 1,112 deaths; Udhampur has 10,947 positive cases, 341 active positive, 10,475 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,267 positive cases, 655 active positive, 9,414 recovered, 198 deaths; Kathua has 9,034 positive cases, 158 active positive, 8,729 recovered, 147 deaths; Samba has 6,943 positive cases, 388 active positive, 6,439 recovered, 116 deaths. “Doda has 6,256 positive cases, 1,026 active positive, 5,137 recovered, 93 deaths; Poonch has 5,741 positive cases, 884 active positive, 4,776 recovered, 81 deaths; Ramban has 5,514 positive cases, 428 active positive, 5,029 recovered, 57 deaths; Reasi has 5,471 positive cases, 165 active positive, 5,266 recovered, 40 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,203 positive cases, 210 active positive, 3,955 recovered, 38 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 04,866 positive cases, 21,808 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
