JPDCL disappointed people during sweltering summer: Kavinder
6/10/2021 11:24:18 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 10: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta expressed grave concern over the dismal power scenario in the Jammu region with sun radiating scorching heat waves since last week
In a statement issued here on Thursday, the senior BJP functionary maintained that in contrast to claims made on provision of adequate power supply for summer months, the JPDCL has miserably failed to come upto the expectations of people of the region as things have gone haywire and power outage has become synonymous to scorching heat under which Jammu is reeling these days.
Kavinder said that sadly no change has been made on ground as far as power availability during the peak summer months is concerned. He asked the local administration to take steps on war footing to address the problem as load shedding has become a norm and frequent fluctuations in the power supply are posing grave threat to electrical gadgets and in many cases reported so far huge loss has been incurred by the people after their electrical appliances give in to the rippling voltage and frequent glitches in the electricity supply. He alleged that the scenario this year is even worse than last year exposing the JPDCL badly. The senior BJP leader, however, asked the concerned quarters not to give in under the pressure rather pace up efforts to resolve the issue as soon as possible by rectifying the erring spots through a comprehensive exercise of identification of weak links. He also advised the power department sleuths to take strict action against those who still believe in power thefts and are main cause of overload on feeders. He said that by shifting blames on people that they are not using power judiciously will not serve the purpose as the design of the power networks are conceived and realized taking into account all such factors.
Kavinder urged the higher ups in the department to take appropriate steps and ensure stable and power-cut free electricity supply to cater to the needs of the people reeling under sweltering heat of peak summers.
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta along with Vinay Gupta, District President BJP and Corporator Pawan Singh distributed Golden Cards among people in a programme held at Ashok Nagar in Satwari area today.
Kavinder appealed to the people to take benefit of the centrally sponsored schemes as the BJP government is committed for welfare of people of the country.
