Samba, June 10: AGMO Samba Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing J&K, in collaboration with Block Project Manager JKSRLM block Vijaypur, organised capacity building program for SHG members, professional resource persons of JKSRLM block Vijaypur in mango processing, branding and marketing.
The capacity building program was addressed by Anuj Verma AGMO Samba, Neerja Sharma Senior Scientist KVK Samba and Pawan Sharma Associate Prof SKUAST Jammu and Simmi Sharma Block Program Manager JKSRLM block Vijaypur.
Neerja discussed methods of processing of mangoes to prepare amchur, ampanna, Khatti Mitti Chuttney and mango pickle for commercial purposes.
Pawan threw light on different checks and balances to be maintained before marketing of home made products viz., Certification under FSSAI, giving full information about the product on labels including ingredients, preservatives used, date of manufacturing, best before and quality of raw material used.
The AGMO Samba exhorted upon SHG ladies to take full benefits of support being provided by the JKSRLM, SKUAST Jammu, KVK and Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing to economically empower themselves by preparing and processing products like pickles, ampanna, mango Chuttney, amchur, Amla candies, murabba, juice, kanak, rice flour, maize flour, curry leaves powder, lemon candies packed in latest packaging material for commercial purposes. This'll not only raise their living standards but also shall give an identity to local products. |
