Ministry of Education harassing teachers, students : Pathania | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 10: The National Students Union of India President Kathua Kunal Singh Pathania said in an interview that the Ministry of Education is confused and trying to increase mental pressure of students and teachers in this pandemic. First of all the most of the staff in the College and University faculty is contractual and has a definite period of teaching. But they aren't even paid for that on time and not even they are cleared by the administration about their tenure and completion of tenure. After which all the contractual faculty has boycotted classes and students are suffering. Kunal asked why teachers are considered as villain whey they want to get paid for all the work they put in outside of their contractual hours. They don't get any remuneration for vacations. They can't go for a new job in this period and fall in a very hard situation to run their family need. They are suffering. It's inexplicable at personal level. Their posts were notified near regular and they're entitled to all benefits like regular teachers. But they aren't even cleared about what to do next. On one hand administration issued an order to complete the syllabus by the mid of July and on the other hand the teaching staff has boycotted classes. So how can students complete their syllabus without lectures delivered to them. Current situation is so difficult for the students which are in final semesters who need to go for research and get admission in further courses. Because of the irregularities in the online lectures they will face difficulties in during exams. He said, "The administration need to be a little bit more generous, it's not students fault neither teachers fault. It's no one's fault. They need to think of solutions that will balance things out and how to continue the classes of students. |
