Webinar on “preparing students for virtual placement drives” organized

Jammu, Jun 12: Jammu Career Counselling and placement cell of Government Polytechnic College Kathua today organized a career awareness webinar for Polytechnic students on topic "Preparing students for Virtual placement drives".
The webinar was organised in collaboration with Wocially, India's Social Commerce platform for recruitment in national and multinational companies.
The webinar was attended by students of various Polytechnic Colleges of J&K. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic College Kathua who motivated the students to keep up-skilling themselves so that they can get suitable job placement and said such live sessions shall help students in preparing for various Virtual recruitment drives.
Prashant Shringi Strategic Business Partner Wocially was the resource person for webinar. In his presentation he explained in detail to students about online recruitment opportunities available at Wocially.
He added that every year, millions of students graduate from colleges across the world, but less than 10%, of them, are work-ready. Students need 21st-century skills such as innovative and design thinking, the ability to interpret complex data, emotional intelligence, artificial intelligence, digital marketing coupled with strong leadership and communication skills. He also highlighted the importance of online platform for recruitment of students virtually at companies such as the Aditya Birla Group, Mahindra Group, Berger Paints, Z3 Partners, Polymath Advisors and Streetstyle. The proceedings of session were conducted by Er. Vishal Sharma, Demonstrator, while Rishabh Gupta, Lecturer, Government Polytechnic College Kathua presented formal vote of thanks.
