JAMMU, June 12: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC), Jindrah today observed 'Anti-Child Labour Day' in presence of Prof Rajshree Dhar, the Principal of GDC Jindrah. The guests present on the occasion included Dhruv Gupta, Tehsildar, Dansal and Anil Sharma, President, All J&K Panc-Sarpanch Conference. During the event details of three month long Saksharta Mission were shared by Dr Sunil Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS unit of GDC Jindrah. It was proudly that how fifteen Child Laborers who used to worked in a Brick Klin were rescued, motivated and convinced to be admitted at primary school, Jindrah by NSS Unit of GDC Jindrah under its three month long Saksharta Mission. Vishal Sharma, teacher, Primary School, Jindrah also actively participated in the three month long Saksharta Mission to make it successful. The NSS volunteers of the college also distributed stationery and food items amongst the rescued children. The efforts and exercises made by NSS Unit of GDC Jindrah to bring back child laborers to main streamline were well appreciated and applauded by Principal, guests and locals. Dr Seema compiled the whole event of ‘Anti-Child Labour Day’.
