| CF calls on CS to call bankers’meet | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 12: Citizen's Forum has welcomed Arun Kumar Mehta as new Chief Secretary of J&K UT and hoped J&K UT's small business and MSME financial problems will be taken up with Banks and other financial institutions of the region. R K Chadha president of the forum said particularly in Jammu Bankers don't come forward with New RBI Covid Schemes and Guidelines. Last year schemes of rehabilitation of small Business and MSME were at the mercy and choice of individual Bankers. Again this year new Covid guidelines for financial help to the small sector are not known to general account holders.
GECL scheme is updated as on may 30th 2021, but bankers refuse to acknowledge its availability. This GECL scheme being one of the most beneficial for the small business and MSME , and was demanded by entire country enterpreneurs and it is updated as on May 30 2021 should be openly publicised for the knowledge of unit holders.
Even most of unit holders does not know the 2 years moratorium allowed to all even including NPA units.
We request Chief Secretary to kindly call a meeting of all Bankers of the region and ask them to first announce all guidelines and schemes issued by RBI and Finance Ministry for new Covid situation. This scheme is already sanctioned and does not need new application from borrowers. Bankers have to inform and ask every account holder to avail of the scheme, CF president said .
