26 kanals of forest land retrieved by Forest Department | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 12: A team of Jammu Forest Division, led by Vijay Khosla Range Officer Jammu & other forest field staff have removed encroachment over 26 kanals of forest land falling in compartment No: 3/M of Village Gaink and also sealed two tin sheds in an anti encroachment drive in the presence of police team lead by Manoj Kumar SHO, Rishi Kumar SI, Surinder Kumar ASI and Duty Magistrate Mohd Mukhtiyar Zargar, Naib Tehsildar Agore. As per press release, upon the request of Forest Department, Anshul Garg Deputy Commissioner Jammu & Chandan Kohli, SSP Jammu deployed police personnel and deputed Duty Magistrate to tackle law and order situation. Despite resistance the situation was handled with the assistance of Police and two illegal structure constructed on forest land was also sealed and 26 Kanal of forest land was retrieved from one Ram Lal s/o Ganga. Further, the forest area was also secured by fencing. The higher officers including Mohit Gera Pr.CCF J&K (HOFF), K.Ramesh Kumar, CCF Jammu and CF East Circle Samuel Changkija appreciated the efforts of the officials and directed to take all the measures to prevent encroachment on forest land. |
