| Over 19,000 Lilium flowers in Sanasar bloom to welcome visitors amid COVID restrictions | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 12: Though Tulip buds did not bloom this season due to the COVID pandemic as claimed by the authorities in the foothills of picturesque Sanasar, more than 19000 Lilium flowers standing bloomed are ready to welcome visitors amid COVID restrictions at the site located some 20-kilometres from the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban District.
Sanasar is one of the beautiful and unexplored tourist destinations in the Jammu region and Tulips are grown every year at this place along with Kashmir’s Tulip Garden. The Ramban District Administration has imposed restrictions under section 144 of CrPC and National Disaster Management Act in areas like Sanasar, Nathatop and Patnitop in view of pandemic and people not following proper COVID-19 appropriate behavior. However, the visitors yet again miss the mesmerizing Lilium Flowers bloomed in the meadows of Sanasar adding some colours to life in this pandemic. Arjun Parihar, Assistant Floriculture Officer, Department of Floriculture, said that four varieties of Lilium in different colours have been planted at Sanasar in the month of mid March.
‘’Total 19800 bulbs were planted by the Department of Floriculture, Jammu and they are almost in full bloom at present,’’ said the officer. Due to some unavoidable reasons, the tulips could not be planted but Lilium was grown with an idea that it will bloom by June-July when a number of tourists visit Sanasar. |
