Public Grievances redress camp held at Nagrota Gujjroo

KATHUA, July 1: To assess the issues and grievances of the general masses, a public grievances redress camp was held at Forest Guest House at Nagrota Gujjroo today.
DDC Chairperson Mahan Singh; Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, DDC Member, Nagrota Gujjroo Narayan Tripathi; BDC Chairman Abhey Khajuria; Sarpanches, Panches and a large number of people were also present.
Scores of deputations and individuals put forth their issues during the camp. They sought augmentation of drinking water supply, uninterrupted power, repair of Hand Pumps and early completion of PMGSY roads.
A Patient hearing was given to the demands and issues of the people and on-the-spot directions were also issued to the concerned officers to mitigate the problems in a speedy manner. The concerned officials of PDD were asked to make provision for electricity poles to improve the power supply in a time bound manner.
The demand for early completion of Ramkote- Shorolal and Ucha Pind- Trappad PMGSY roads was discussed with the department. The XEN PMGSY Billawar apprised that 4 KM of both the PMGSY roads have been completed and work on the remaining stretch is in progress.
The XEN PMGSY was directed to expedite the work and ensure completion of roads within stipulated time.
In response to the problem related to defunct hand pumps in several Panchayats, the people were informed that a provision of 50 Hand Pumps has been kept under current Capex, and the same will ease out the problem to a great extent.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to take all Corona related precautions, maintain hand Hygiene and wear masks to minimise the chance of infection. He also appealed to people to take vaccination as administration has made elaborate arrangements to inoculate age appropriate categories besides teams are visiting door to door to ensure all eligible get Vaccinated.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson appealed to the PRI's to extend cooperation to the administration in effective planning and execution of the development plans under different sectors and schemes. He said the elected members of PRIs have huge onus to take up preferable development works keeping in mind the aspirations of local people.
