SRINAGAR, July 1: Jammu & Kashmir reported 298 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 15,960. With four deaths being reported in the past 24 hours the death toll due to the virus in the union territory reached 4,327. Srinagar district reported 60 new cases followed by Anantnag district 30, Kulgam district 24, Samba district 23, Budgam district 20, Baramulla district 19, Kupwara district 17, Kishtwar district 16, Poonch district 14, Ganderbal district 13, Pulwama, Doda and Reasi districts nine each, Ramban district eight, Jammu, Rajouri and Udhampur districts seven each, Bandipora district four and Kathua district two cases. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 298 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 102 from Jammu division and 196 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 15,960. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported; two each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions. Moreover, 573 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 110 from Jammu division and 463 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 86.51 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 3, 15,960 positive cases, 4,321 are active positive, 3, 07,312 have recovered and 4,327 have died; 2,107 in Jammu division and 2,220 in Kashmir division. Out of 1, 00, 17,517 test results available, 97, 01,557 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 24, 34,901 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,034 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,321 in isolation and 2, 25,038 in home surveillance. Besides, 21, 86,181 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 70,043 positive cases, 781 active positive, 68,433 recovered, 829 deaths; Baramulla has 23,263 positive cases, 274 active positive, 22,711 recovered, 278 deaths; Budgam has 22,576 positive cases, 236 active positive, 22,136 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,090 positive cases, 167 active positive, 15,721 recovered, 202 deaths; Pulwama has 14,870 positive cases, 181 active positive, 14,497 recovered, 192 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,815 positive cases, 253 active positive, 13,397 recovered, 165 deaths; Kulgam has 11,067 positive cases, 172 active positive, 10,779 recovered, 116 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,601 positive cases, 190 active positive, 9,335 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,306 positive cases, 138 active positive, 9,068 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,554 positive cases, 11 active positive, 5,485 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,399 positive cases, 556 active positive, 50,709 recovered, 1,134 deaths; Udhampur has 11,180 positive cases, 92 active positive, 10,957 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,714 positive cases, 150 active positive, 10,344 recovered, 220 deaths; Kathua has 9,207 positive cases, 33 active positive, 9,025 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,084 positive cases, 49 active positive, 6,916 recovered, 119 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Doda has 6,839 positive cases, 235 active positive, 6,491 recovered, 113 deaths; Poonch has 6,106 positive cases, 229 active positive, 5,785 recovered, 92 deaths; Reasi has 5,919 positive cases, 330 active positive, 5,546 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,842 positive cases, 102 active positive, 5,676 recovered, 64 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,485 positive cases, 142 active positive, 4,301 recovered, 42 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 15,960 positive cases in J&K, 22,389 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory.
