Early Times Report

Srinagar, July 1: Jammu and Kashmir Administration has directed civil secretariat employees in summer capital, Srinagar, to wear masks or face disciplinary action, including forfeiture of annual increment.
Commissioner-secretary to Government, Manoj Kumar Dweivedi said that it has been observed that some employees working in some departments are not displaying COVID appropriate behavior, violating social distancing norms, not wearing face masks or wearing face mask improperly.
This irresponsible behavior on part of these employees not only endangers their own live but also the lives of other employees working on the premises, an issue which has been viewed seriously by authorities.
He said accordingly all employees working in the civil secretariat are hereby enjoined to follow COVID appropriate behavior, wear face masks properly and adhere to social distancing normal.
However, any violation in this regard shall be treated as breach of conduct rules and disciplinary action, including forfeiture of annual increment shall be initiated against such employees.
Only half of civil secretariat offices of annual “Darbar Move” are functioning from summer capital, Srinagar, while rest are operating from winter capital, Jammu.
The Union Territory (UT) government has directed employees who will now permanently stay in Jammu or Srinagar to surrender their accommodation in one of the cities.
