GDC Kathua organizes International webinar

Jammu, Jul 1: An international webinar on the theme “Health, Wellness and Sport Sciences” was organized by the Department of Physical Education & Sports, Govt. Degree College (Boys) Kathua in collaboration with Foundation for Global Community Health (GCH), United States of America.
The Webinar, organized under the Patronship of Prof. Assa Ram Sharma, Principal, Govt. Degree College (Boys), Kathua, was marked with the presence of eminent researchers of national and international repute in the field from sports science. It was a matter of great pride for GDC Kathua that Prof. (Dr.) Ming Kai Chin, President of Global Community Health (GCH), USA graced the webinar as chief guest, and Dr. SS Roy, High Performance Director Khelo India as guest of honour. More than 300 participants more than 17 countries of the world including USA, Bulgaria, UAE, Malaysia, Srilanka, Australia, Germany, Spain and Pakistan attended the webinar.
The webinar was formally inaugurated by Prof. Assa Ram Sharma. He expressed his gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) Ming Kai Chin for the support extended by Global Community Health (GCH), USA for the organization of webinar.
In his address, Dr. Ming said that such type of webinars are very much required in these challenging times when most of us are required to stay at homes. He appreciated the efforts made by the Organizing team of GDC Kathua and expressed that this is going to help students as well as faculty in better understanding the importance of sports and sport sciences as a profession and its role in physical and psychological wellbeing of youngsters in general and sports person in particular. Dr. J. S. Soodan, Organizing Secretary and Head Department of Physical Education & Sports, GDC Kathua, in his address to participants said that physical distances are no limitation to exchange knowledge and participants will surely benefit from this webinar. He was of the view that sports sciences can be an emerging subject which can benefit students both physically and professionally.
