Udhampur admin launches Tribal Survey 2021

UDHAMPUR, July 1: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib today convened a meeting with BDCs, DDCs, District officers, stakeholders and Tribal Community members regarding launch of Tribal Survey 2021 in the District, here at Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
After launching the Tribal survey, detailed discussion were held on various issues related to the Socio –economic status, Special interventions, Health, Education, Budget announcements 2021-22, Planning process, Target group identification, sectoral intervention, documentation, Bi-Annual migration, Migration routes, Migratory routes, Innovation in survey, Survey /Enumeration of nomadic /migratory tribes etc discussed in detail.
For the successful rollout of the survey in the district, it was decided in the meeting that the planning work of the survey shall be done by Chief Planning Officer Udhampur in coordination with District Statistics and Evaluation Officer and DIO NIC.
Assistant Commissioner Panchayat/ District Panchayat Officer (ACP), was nominated as a nodal officer of Tribal Survey.
The DC asked Revenue, Education, RDD, Social Welfare Forest, Planning Department, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments to play a key role in conducting the survey and providing logistic support for its timely completion.
She informed that the manpower to carry out the survey at field level will comprise of enumerators, supervisors at Tehsil level and District level. The DC directed the concerned officers to explore all the locations and work in close coordination with the PRIs so that no family is left out in the exercise. Naib Tehsildars were asked to ensure the 100% enumeration of the Tribal population at all possible locations.
The DC said that the field work will be held under the close monitoring of concerned SDMs/ACR and Tehsildars/ and under the overall supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur. The DC asked the concerned officers for organize Information Education Communication activities regarding Tribal survey in their respective areas. Suggestions were also received from Tribal Community members on the occasion. Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohd Syed Khan, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Giri, Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Chowdhary and other senior officers of various departments besides stakeholders and representatives of Tribal Community were present in the meeting.
