Jammu, July 1: Two youths, including one from Uttar Pradesh, have drowned while one was rescued in separate incidents in Jammu and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Station House Officer, Police Station, Akhnoor, Jammu, Inspector Azhar Hilal on Thursday said that one person namely Mohan, 16, resident of Kushi Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, drowned in Chenab river on Wednesday evening while taking bath near Jia Pota Ghat Akhnoor. Searches are on to trace the body, he said. The SHO said that while the teams were on job, on Thursday morning, one Ghanshyam, 37, resident of Resham Ghar Colony, Jammu, who slipped into deep water while taking bath at Ghat, was rescued by police and SDRF teams. Thereafter, he was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor and his condition was stated to be stable. However, in another incident, one person drowned in River Tawi. Station House Officer, Police Station Udhampur, Chaman Gorkha, said that one Rakesh Kumar,35, resident of Ward Number No. 7, Shakti Nagar, Garian Talab drowned in Tawi, near Railway Station, Sangoor. |
