Tony takes stock of PDD edifice, asks stakeholders for ensuring uninterrupted supply

RS PURA, July 1: DDC member Suchetgarh Taranjit Singh Tony on Thursday asked the concerned PDD officials to rectify and repair power edifice and remove other bottlenecks to ensure round the clock electricity supply in Suchetgarh area.
He said this during a comprehensive tour of the border belt of Suchetgarh Sector to take real time stock of problems being faced by the people of the region on account of power outage.
The DDC member was accompanied XEn (Transmission) Ashok Kumar Chhibber, AEE, AE, JE of the same wing of PDD. The first place which the DDC member visited along with PDD team was Satrayiyan Sattowali Power Station where locals apprised them of problems emanating due to inadequate capacity of transformer and other issues.
Addressing the people, T S Tony informed that within the short span of three months the capacity of the power station will be enhanced from present 6.5 MVA to 10 MVA thus mitigating the problem of load shedding to a large extent.
Later, the PDD team accompanying the DDC Member also visited Khana Chak and Badyal Brahmana Power Stations.
Interacting with locals, Tony informed that a special transmission line from Miran Sahib to Khana Chak Power Station via R S Pura is almost ready and will be commissioned tentatively on July 15.
Thereafter, a meeting was held in the SDPO R S Pura to discuss issue being confronted by the PDD staff on account of hooliganism of locals who forcibly enter the premises of Power Stations.
The meeting which was being held in the presence of SDPO R S Pura Shabir Khan, SDM R S Pura Ram Lal Sharma, SHOs R S Pura and Miran Sahib Jaipal Sharma and Sultan Mirza respectively, assured that steps will be taken to stop such kind of unwarranted actions.
During the meeting, T S Tony also held a discussion with Chief Engineer Projects Manohar Gupta and XEn P D Singh over the status of various ongoing projects which are nearing completion but the work has been stopped due to unknown reasons.
In this context, T S Tony specifically mentioned about a languishing project of a bifurcation line in Suchetgarh area. Among others who were present include Sukhdev Manhas, Kasturi Chib, Sudesh Chib, Sarban Choudhary, Titu Sharma, Pinder Singh, Capt Om Parkash, Binny Sarpanch, Veena Sharma Sarpanch and others.
