Jammu plunges into dark age as unprecedented power cuts return | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 11: With the return of unprecedented power cuts within just one month, the Jammu region appears to be plunged into the dark age thanks to insensitive, arrogant bureaucrats at the helm of the affairs. In May and June, when the Jammu region witnessed historic power cuts, the authorities had claimed that the system has been streamlined and there will be no unscheduled power curtailment. For the last two days, many parts of the Jammu region are confronting with unscheduled power cuts after repeated intervals, which is a clear indication that all claims of the authorities are confined only on papers. As the whole Jammu region is plunged into crisis due to unprecedented power cuts and acute shortage of potable water, people have reason to questions arrogant bureaucrats who have not time to respond to their distress calls. Anger brewing among people against officers for maintaining a criminal silence over the plight of the people. “Instead of providing basic amenities to people of Jammu region officers are raking up emotive issues to divert the attention of commoners”, a resident said and regretted that residents of the whole Jammu region are confronting with unprecedented water and power crisis, but officers are unconcerned. “Instead of providing basic amenities to the people, bureaucrats are busy in raking up the issue of abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A to hoodwink the people and to divert their attention,”, he said and added that these two articles were abrogated by the Union Government headed by Narendra Modi, not by bureaucrats of J&K. The job of the J&K bureaucrats is to solve day today problems of the common masses and they should leave political issues for politicians of BJP to reap political benefits. |
