Terrorists strike at will, puncture normalcy claims
No one can feel the pain of Krishna Dhaba owner, whose son was killed in cold blood by ultras

Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 11: Terrorists killing a BJP leader and his wife in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district has yet again punctured the tall claims about normalcy returning to the Valley.
On Monday terrorists shot dead BJP’s Kisan Morcha president of Kulgam, Ghulam Rasool Dar, and his wife by barging inside their rented accommodation in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag town.
An observer while talking to Early Times said, “If the situation has improved then how come terrorists are calling the shots and killing the people at their own will. The helmsmen need to answer this question.”
It’s in place to mention here that when a delegation of ambassadors visited Kashmir earlier this year, the terrorists struck at the famous eatery Krishna Dhaba in Sonawar and killed the son of the eatery owner. The attack took place in the high security zone and after carrying out the assault the terrorists fled away from the spot. After a few days police claimed that they arrested the terrorists who were involved in the attack but they made their presence felt amidst the presence of a foreign delegation in the Valley.
On June 8, 2020, terrorists killed a Sarpanch Ajay Pandita alias Bharti, a 40-year-old Kashmiri Pandit in south Kashmir’s Anantnag, Pandita, sarpanch of Lukbawan village in Larkipora, was attacked at his orchard.
Bharti, was affiliated with the Congress.
The family of the Sarpanch had migrated from south Kashmir in early 1990s but returned around two years back. He had successfully contested the panchayat polls.
In yet another incident terrorists shot dead another BJP leader Rakesh Pandita on June 2, 2021 in south Kashmir’s Tral area. Pandit, a municipal chairman of Tral in Pulwama district, was visiting a friend, Mushtaq Ahmad, when three terrorists opened fire at them. His friend’s daughter, Asifa Mushtaq, was also hit. The observer said, “Terrorists have been targeting the political workers and members of the minority community at will. The claim of the government that the situation is becoming normal is contradictory to the ground situation.”
He said, “Mere announcements won’t help anyone’s cause. These only create misconception and illusions. The militancy has to be wiped out before claiming that the situation is normal.”
“No one can feel the pain of the father of the young boy, who was killed by the terrorists at Krishna Dhaba or the kith and kin of the BJP worker who was murdered in cold blood in Sonawar,” said an analyst.
“Mere condemnation is not enough. The helmsmen need to act and they have to act fast so that guns roaring within Kashmir fall silent permanently,” he added.
