JAMMU, Jan 5: Police on Wednesday arrested one tanker driver with contraband of poppy straw in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police spokesman said that during the routine checking at Shaan Palace this morning, one gas tanker on its way from Kashmir towards Jammu was intercepted for checking.
During checking, 3-kg poppy straw was recovered for the cabin of the tanker and the driver identified as Baldev Singh of Jodhe, teh Baba Bakala, Amritsar was arrested on the spot.
The arrest was made by Station House Officer, Ramban, Sandeep Charak under supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen DySP Headquarters Ramban and under overall supervision of Mohita Sharma, SP Ramban.
A case under relevant sections was registered against the driver and investigation started. |
