Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 6: A meeting of Minority Department of JKPCC was held here today at PCC HQ Shahidi Chowk Jammu under the Chairmanship of its Vice Chairman Gurdarshan Singh in order to chalk out strategies to strengthen the organization at grass root level. The meeting was attended by all its state, Provincial and District office bearers. While speaking in the meeting, Gurdarshan Singh Vice Chairman laid stress on strengthening of the organizational base of Minority Cell of the congress party and taking the alleged anti-minority policies adapted by the Union and Union Territory governments to the public. He further said that the BJP government is responsible for the problems being faced by the minority communities of JKUT and raising voice against the government's wrong policies is our democratic right. We stand with people and share their problems related to inflation, unemployment, steep price rise of petroleum products and other burning issues of common man. Michael Wazir, State Coordinator, while discussing the measures to protect minorities and their rights appealed all the minority communities to reconnect with the congress party to defeat communal forces. He said that the Congress party has never appeased any particular community, instead, the Party only ensured social justice by giving equal opportunities to all the communities without any discrimination. Jagjeet Singh Rimple, State Coordinator, demands reservation of four Assembly seats for Sikhs, two for Christians and two for Dogra Muslim communities to mitigate the problems being faced by these communities. Baldev Singh Wazir, District President Minority Dept. Jammu Urban, demanded Punjabi language in all Govt as well as private Schools in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and installation of statue of Bandha Bhadhur Singh at Kunjwani Chowk, Jammu. Those who were present in the meeting are Nassir Masih, Balwinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Mohd. Tariq, David Sandhu, Karandeep Singh, Satnam Singh, Sham Lal Gill, Kamaljieet Singh, William, Manpreet Singh Jimmy, Pinki Sudan, Manjit Kour, and others. |
