Vaishno Devi Yatra, chopper service resume | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 6: The pilgrimage to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave shrine that was suspended due to incessant rains resumed on Thursday from the Katra base camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district along with the helicopter service. "Due to continuous rains, the pilgrimage to the cave shrine was suspended on Wednesday evening from Katra but resumed this morning after weather improved slightly," a Shrine Board official said. The chopper service that too was suspended due to dense fog also resumed on Thursday morning. The official said the pilgrimage from the new track was still suspended for pilgrims due to shooting stones and landslides. On the night of December 31-January 1, 12 pilgrims died during a stampede at the Bhawan due to heavy rush. |
