NDS organizes multilingual “e- Poetic Meet”

JAMMU, Jan 6: A Multilingual “e-Poetic Meet” was held by NDS. Dr Vijay Puri, an eminent cartoonist, painter and Dogri writer presided over the Goshthi where as Yash Pal Yash General Secretary NDS conducted the proceedings.
Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President NDS conceived, planned and supervised the Goshthi. Poetry recital organized by NDS saw great enthusiasm amongst Hindi/Urdu and Dogri poets. In all 10 poets participated. 6 presented their poems in Hindi/Urdu and 4 poets in Dogri. 4 participant poets sent video recordings, two sent audio recordings and 4 sent poems through text messages.
Most of poets preferred to write poems on subject revolving around this auspicious starting day of New Year.
Poets expressed good wishes for coming times despite looming pandemic threat.
Dr. Dhian Singh, a veteran and seasoned poet sent lot many short poems on various subjects which are filled with wisdom and are specimen of excellent craft. His choice of Dogri words and similes attracted appreciation.
Dogri poet Shambhu Ram Pyasa’s poem on New Year was not a routine poem of ‘ “Happy New Year’ cliche but poured some deep thoughts and deep insight into philosophy of life.
Efforts of Sudershan Kumari “Darshi” and Ashok Paras in Dogri and Kalpana Gupta Rattan, Dr. Adarsh Malhotra, Tarsem Mahajan, Neelam Sharma, Arun Sharma Banathia and Dr Sushil Bhola in Hindi/Urdu were expressions of best wishes as soft hearted compassionate poet always wishes well with optimism .
Capt Lalit Sharma, Convener NDS in his opening remarks said that mother tongue, local culture and environment are inter connected and they are damaged when we disconnect from ground and nativity.
Dr Vijay Puri appreciated tireless efforts of NDS for promoting Dogri Language and Duggar culture.
He observed that Dogri when made compulsory subject in school syllabus as per new education policy will inculcate a sense of pride in our children for their Mother Tongue Dogri and catching them young will pay dividends.
Kukbhushan Singh Jamwal, a renowned artist of Fine Arts, extended vote of thanks.
