Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 16: Launching scathing attack on the JK UT administration for its dictatorial attitude, former MLC and senior Congress leader Naresh Gupta said that the government has been harassing some media houses for exposing its failures by blocking their advertisements. Talking to Early Times, Naresh Gupta strongly condemned the move of the present LG led administration for curbing freedom of speech and said that not only media houses, even common masses have been made to suffer. “Present government has not been doing fair deals with the people according to its much hyped slogan of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ rather it has been doing contrary to it. With such an imposition, the governmen ‘Blocking Advertisements’ has been exhibiting its partial attitude. There is a huge difference between its action and motion,” Gupta said. During Gulam Nabi Azad led Congress regime, no media house was harassed despite the fact that several newspapers wrote against the then government but it was never reflected on the issuance of advertisement, he said further adding that Azad sahib was a great believer of freedom of speech. “This Government lacks vision. It should keep its action and motion parallel for the welfare of the common masses. When you are on the highest chair, justice should be done to all equally. This sudden move of the government of restricting advertisement to some media houses reflects its frustration,” Gupta said. |
