JAMMU, Jan 27: A bench of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) at Jammu comprising Dr. Bhagwan Sahai (A) and Rakesh Sagar Jain (J), directed Secretary, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Jammu and Kashmir to submit written reply clarifying as to whether the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies is a state government organization or not.
This significant order has been passed in a petition filed by one Jeet Singh for release of salary. CAT directed the Deputy AG to file reply of the respondents clarifying the position as to whether Directorate of Urban Local Bodies is a state government organization or not. Deputy AG Rajesh Thapa submitted that as per his instructions, Directorate of Urban Local Bodies is not a state government organization and it is an organization set up by ULBs themselves.
The CAT observed that it is not convinced of Deputy AG's submissions and directed to submit a written reply from Secretary, Department of Housing and Urban Development, J&K clarifying as to whether the Directorate , Urban Local Bodies is a state government organization or not. |
