Shiv Sena expresses dismay over hollow claims of J&K Govt to end unemployment
Seeks cancellation of new recruitment notification issued for border battalions

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 27: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir Unit has expressed dismay over the hollow claims of ending unemployment in the Union Territory.
The Sena has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene to provide relief to the job aspirants who had applied for recruitment in border battalions in 2019 and have been victimized due to new notification issued for the same.
The party activists led by Shiv Sena state president Manish Sahni staged a protest here demanding that the new notification be withdrawn forthwith.
Talking to reporters Sahni said, “LG Sinha should intervene and stop this injustice with the border youth who have been waiting for the past three years for written examinations to be held. The new notification should not be mixed with the old one.”
The Shiv Sena President said that it was way back in 2018 that the process of formation of Border Battalion Force was started out after the assurance of Union Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh and PMO and MP from Jammu, Dr. Jatinder Singh. “Applications were sought from the youth of the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir for recruitment through notification and physical examination was also carried out. Separate battalions were to be formed for women and men, under which a total of 2700 youth were to be recruited. After the physical examination, there has been a continuous demand to hold written examination during the last 2 years but the Jammu and Kashmir administration has slept over the issue. On 11th Jan 2022 the government issued a new notification to accommodate blue eyed aspirants,” he said.
Sahni said, “The tactics adopted by the government is compelling youth to hit the streets amid third wave of Covid-19 pandemic. These youth have been harassed mentally, physically and financially due to the attitude of the administration.”
He said that on one hand the Central Government and the LG administration are continuously making claims of addressing unemployment from J&K but on the other hand, the bureaucracy is issuing notifications contradictory to the claims.
The Shiv Sena President urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to immediately quash the notification issued on 11th January 2022 and issue instructions to carry out the written test and recruitment for border battalions under the earlier notification.
