JAMMU, Jan 28: Dr Banarsi Lal, Incharge, Senior Scientist & Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) has been conferred with the prestigious Best Scientist Award in the 7th South Asian Education Awards-2022. The award ceremony was recently held through virtual mode. 7th South Asian Education Awards-2022 are incubated by the leading research and branding organization, Education Expo TV (EET CRS) with the objective to recognize the outstanding contributions and remarkable achievements of scientists, academicians and institutions across the globe. The 7th South Asian Education Awards-2022 panel conferred the best scientist award to the scientist based on his quality research publications as first author, popular articles as first author, books as first author, book chapters as first author, projects undertaken as PI and Co-PI, success stories as first author, case studies as first author, Radio/TV talks, invited talks, consultancy services, SHGs/Farmers Clubs managed, technologies disseminated etc. for the welfare of the farming community. Dr Banarsi is the Gold Medalist from Rajasthan Agriculture University (RAU) and his doctorate is from the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. He has developed an innovative Exponential Communication Model which is an appropriate model to assess the communication behaviour of the farmers. He has written more than 600 publications as research papers in national and international journals, popular articles, success stories/case studies, technical bulletins, leaflets, books, book chapters, training manuals etc. The scientist has won many zonal, national and international awards. Presently, Dr Banarsi is endeavouring to empower the rural youths through technology led farming. |
