Katli residents threaten election boycott | Say won’t allow any politician to visit area if admin fails to repair 4 km link road | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Jan 28: Residents of Katli in Kathua district staged a protest on Friday against the dilapidated road in the area. Protesters while talking to reporters said, “Whenever elections come close politicians make tall promises that they would repair this road, but after the polls get over they disappear from the scene and never comeback to fulfill their promises.” “If the government fails to repair this road we have decided to boycott the elections and won’t allow any politician inside our village,” they threatened. Protesters said, “The 4-km long road from Katli Mood to our village has never been repaired. Whenever, it rains it gets inundated. Even as on date it’s full of muck. One cannot even wall vehicles plying over it is out of question. Today’s protest is just a warning to administration. If the officials fail to repair this road we will block the main road,” they said. |
