Covid will go but all of us will die, say restaurant staffers | ‘J&K Admin should revise restriction guidelines, we’re at verge of losing jobs’ | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 28: The employees working in bars and restaurants have appealed to the government to give relaxation in the restrictions so that their jobs could be saved. Aggrieved employees working in various outlets in Jammu today held a press conference and informed about their situation. “According to the guidelines of J&K administration, bars and restaurants can operate with only 25% capacity. These guidelines have adversely affected business as well as the employees working in these outlets. Due to slow down in business many of us have lost our jobs and several are on the verge of losing their livelihood in the coming days.” “The conditions of this business can be gauged from the fact that the employees associated with this industry are getting 50 % salary” they said. They said that while there is no protocol being observed in political rallies, govt offices, public parks and in open markets, imposing restrictions on the number of guests in bars and restaurants is injustice to them. They requested the administration to give relief to this industry. “Our units operate for 5-days in a week with 25% capacity and on Saturday and Sunday everything remains closed. The Covid will go but all of us will die if the government keeps on imposing restrictions,” they said. |
