One month on, Thajar-Churanda road remains blocked | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Feb 26: For the past one month or so residents of couple of villages in the Uri area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district are not able to visit each other due to the blockade of the road connecting both these villages. The residents of Churanda and Batgran villages in the Uri area are up in arms against the administration saying that the Thajar-Churanda road has been cut off due to the rains that took place a month back on January 25. The residents said that they are suffering for the past one month and there is nobody to listen to them. The residents said that repeated pleas on the officers and officials of the R&B department has fallen on deaf ears since no action has been taken so far. They demanded intervention from SDM Uri and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla in this regard and said that they would launch an agitation in case their demand is not met immediately. |
