Despite assurances of BJP leaders, Govt issues notification for recruitment of border battalions
2/26/2022 11:59:01 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 26: Notwithstanding repeated assurance of BJP leadership, J&K Government issued a notification seeking fresh applications for recruitment in border battalions.
For the last over one month, aspirants of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Border/Women Battalion are agitating for their demand for early conduct of written examination for the posts of Border/Women Battalion advertised in the year 2019 and cancellation of new notification for the recruitment.
Instead of treating this issue through the humanitarian ground, the authorities have issued a fresh notification to give an impression that the J&K government is least concerned about the problems of the youth.
A large number of unemployed youth including boys and girls had applied for recruitment in the border battalions some years ago but till date, the written examination had not been conducted.
They have been waiting for the written test for last three years but despite repeated requests and appeals, no notification has been issued by the administration.
They expressed resentment over the recent re-advertisement of the posts by the police recruitment board and demanded its withdrawal.
As reported earlier by this newspaper after snatching the livelihood of a large number of local youth through its deceitful policies, the incumbent Jammu and Kashmir government has betrayed thousands of youth of border areas who have applied for the post of constables in Border Battalions.
The recruitment process for two border battalions was started in the year 2019 when Jammu and Kashmir was a fulfilled State and a large number of boys and girls of border areas had applied for the same.
The recruitment process was suspended in March 2020 after the outbreak of the first wave COVID-19 pandemic. It was informed that 2000 youth will be recruited for Border Battalions.
Physical tests were restarted in December 2020 in Jammu province and the same process was started in Kashmir Valley in July 2021.
Ironically, making a mockery of the whole recruitment process, Jammu and Kashmir administration issued a fresh recruitment notification on January 11, 2022.
