2/27/2022 10:53:30 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

CHENANI, Feb 27: Government Degree College (GDC) Chenani in collaboration with the Sunstone Eduversity, Gurgaon, Haryana organized the Phase II of the National Level Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme, “How to make Classrooms Interesting and Learning Impactful”. The programme introduced the exciting advancements in the modern classrooms and latest methodologies of Flipped learning, Collaborative learning, Personalised learning and Live learning so as to reinforce the teachers to prioritize active learning for a better understanding of student erudition since new approaches to teaching strategies widens the teaching toolkit compared to just a blackboard and chalk.
The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College. Dr. Amruta Sharma was the expert speaker in the event. She stated that teaching is a challenging profession and limited time, lack of resources and workload, individuality of students and keeping things fresh and interesting are major challenges and constraints in effective and meaningful teaching. She opined that creativity and interest based learning can be induced by encouraging the students to ask open end questions by creating flexible learning environment, allowing the students to take risks and to consider a flipped classroom model and experiential learning.
The main aim of the FDP is to move ahead with the new education reform which provides an entirely different angle of teaching and learning as modern teaching methods do not treat all students at the same level of their understanding ability, unlike the conventional method of teaching. Rather than being only teacher based, modern teaching methods focus more on questioning, demonstration, explaining, practical, collaboration methods, and are more activity-based to allow students to create opportunities for themselves and others.
The programme was moderated by Abhinav Anand.
