Srinagar-Jammu national highway reopens | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 27 (UNI) Srinagar-Jammu National highway has been put through for vehicular traffic after it was cleared. The National highway was closed for vehicular movement due to fresh landslides that occurred at Magerkoote, a traffic department official earlier said. “Jammu-Srinagar NHW through for one way traffic, stranded vehicles are being cleared”, a traffic police tweet said. Border Roads Organization(BRO) had pressed into service men and machines in the morning to remove the landslides from the highway to make it traffic worthy, they said. The National highway was also closed for vehicular traffic on Saturday due to landslides and shooting of tones that occurred following rainfall and snow accumulation at NAYUUG Tunnel. However it was made traffic worthy after the BRO men and machines cleared debris and snow from the highway. |
