Weather improves in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 27: Meteorological Department forecasts that weather will remain mainly dry over Jammu and Kashmir with very light rain and snow at isolated places even as the minimum temperature dipped in the valley on Sunday. The weather conditions improved in Kashmir valley following a wet spell of rain and snow at various places on Saturday. The sun appeared with a partially cloudy sky coupled with cold conditions prevailing in Srinagar and its adjoining areas. Srinagar the summer capital of Kashmir recorded a low temperature of 1.4 degree Celsius and it also received 0.4mm of rainfall till 0830hours on Sunday. Tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir has a low temperature of minus 5.4 degree Celsius and it also received 1.0mm of rainfall till 0830 hours on Sunday. Ski resort of Gulmarg was the coldest place in Kashmir valley with a temperature as low as minus 9.5 degree Celsius and it also received traces snow on Sunday. Qazigund in south Kashmir has a low of minus 0.4 degree Celsius, Kokernag has recorded a low of minus 1.8 degree Celsius while Kupwara in north Kashmir has a low of minus 0.1degree Celsius on Sunday. |
