ACB arrests JE in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 3: The J&K's Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a Junior Engineer (JE) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe in Kashmir. The accused has been identified as Tassaduq Riyaz, JE, Rural Development Department (REW), District Baramulla. A case was registered against him, ACB said in a statement on Thursday. A statement by the ACB said they received a complaint stating a retaining wall and fencing around Dargah near Gani Masjid Karhama was done at an estimated cost of 1.90 lakh. The work was completed and bills were to be prepared. "Tassaduq Riyaz, was demanding Rs. 5000/- for preparing bills of work done by the complainant," the ACB said. Upon receiving the complaint, a case was registered at police station ACB Baramulla and investigation was taken up. "During the course of investigation, he was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe amount of Rs 5000/- from the complainant," ACB added. He was arrested and taken into custody. Further investigation into the case is on, the ACB further said. |
