| 8-years on, PWD fails to construct Sirgufwara bridge | | |

Anantnag, Mar 3: Eight years have passed since the bridge connecting Sirigufwara with the main road was declared unsafe by the Public Works Department.
Locals told Early Times that PWD during the past few years has come out with tenders for the work but the things have not materialized. “This bridge connects Sirigufwara and other villages with the road leading to famous tourist destination Pahalgam. It’s unfortunate that the authorities are not paying any attention towards it.
People have to pass through the stream to cross to the other side.
This bridge was declared unsafe in 2014 and since then no effort has been put to restore it,” locals added.
They urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to direct the concerned authorities to rebuild this bridge at the earliest. |
