Rana urges all to enrol for Ayushman Sehat Card
3/3/2022 11:25:54 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Mar 3: Making a fervent appeal to the people to register and obtain the Golden Card under J&K SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme, Senior BJP leader Mr Devender Singh Rana today described the measure as a step towards achieving the objective of health for all.
“An extension of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the SEHAT scheme has distinction of covering the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir regardless of their socio-economic statuses”, Mr Rana said while interacting with people during his visit to Panchayat Sarote of Block Mathwar in Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
Rana said the extension and expansion of this crucial health insurance scheme for the entire Jammu and Kashmir population speaks of the intent of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure that ailing patients get the much needed medical cover, not only in the health institutions across the Union Territory but in various hospitals of the country as well.
Referring to the salient features of the SEHAT Yojna, Mr Rana said the insured people would get a financial medical cover of Rs 5 lakh annually per family during hospitalization of any member, which is a significant facility keeping in view the whopping charges being incurred by patients for their treatment.
This will benefit the economically weaker sections the most, who unfortunately remain untreated mostly due to financial constraints. Such segments of the society can now avail of the hassle-free facilities in their nearest health institutions besides referral hospitals, he said while making a strong plea to the people to obtain the cards at the earliest.
The Sr BJP leader said the Ayushman offers cover for critical illnesses, cardiovascular diseases, cancer treatment (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc.), neurological diseases, burns, renal diseases, neonatal treatments, and polytrauma cases. “Already the people across Jammu and Kashmir are availing this facility”, he said, hoping that the uncovered population too will be registered under the scheme. He urged the administration to hold special camps in the rural areas, as is being done in urban localities. This will be a leap forward towards achieving the objective of health for all.
During his visit, Mr Rana was apprised by the people about various issues facing their areas and sought his intervention in getting these redressed.
The issues concerned about the functioning of various utility services, availability of rations at depots and medicines in the hospitals, road improved and regulated supply of drinking water and power.
Rana assured that these will be taken up with the concerned departments for earnest resolution.
