Paperwork moving fast, nothing happening on ground | Addressing Unemployment! | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 10: During the past few months, the government has been claiming that investment proposals worth thousands of crores have been received but it seems that all these proposals are on papers only as the ground situation hasn’t changed in Jammu and Kashmir. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “The unemployment rate is increasing. Recently the government conducted the examinations for filling up 972 posts of Financial Accounts Assistants. More than 2 lakh aspirants appeared in the exam so you can very well understand how many unemployed youth are trying to seek employment in J&K.” He said, “The government is talking about investment proposals and many have been approved also, but it can take time for these projects to come up in J&K. Till then, what will the youth do. The helmsmen have failed to come up with a comprehensive policy to address unemployment. The youth were told that revocation of Article 370 will bring in new jobs and opportunities but nothing of that sort has happened. We see youth protesting on the streets daily.” The analyst said, “The J&K Government needs to fix a quota for natives in the private sector so that they are not deprived of the job opportunities in their own land.” “Besides there being no jobs, the youth who have been employed have been without salaries for a longtime. The glaring reality is that the paperwork is happening fast while nothing much is happening on the ground,” the analyst added. |
