| Will stop sending our children to school, say Daarwan residents | | ‘Teachers exploiting our kids, officials not listening to us’ | |  Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 10: Residents of Daarwan Charar-i-Sharief area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district appeared at Press Enclave here on Thursday and staged a protest against the failure of the officials not listening to them.
Talking to reporters they said, “We have a primary school in our area and two teachers are posted there but both of them seem least interested in imparting education to our kids. They (teachers) make our kids do odd jobs in fields and orchards and use them as help.” Protesters said, “We have approached the officials many times to get these teachers transferred but no one has paid any heed towards our requests.” They said that the house from which the school functions is in shambles and if the government fails to address their genuine grievances, they will stop sending their children to the school. |
