Association of Nursing & Allied Healthcare Colleges urges for resumption of admission process | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 17: A press conference of members of Association of Nursing and Allied Healthcare Colleges was held here. Besides the executive members of the Association some new administrators/owners of different colleges from Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri, Udhampur, Akhnoor and Poonch were also present. A review of the correspondences/meetings with government officials of Health and Medical Education Department regarding the burning issue of admission procedure to the different paramedical and nursing diploma and degree courses by Board of Professional Entrance Examination and the problems faced by the colleges/institutes was taken. Since all the colleges/institutes have not been allotted admissions by BOPEE for last two sessions, almost all the colleges/institutes are near to closure. All the members requested Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Additional Chief Secretary (Health & Medical Education) to look into the matter on humanitarian grounds and save this noble sector of education from any further disaster by allowing admissions of vacant seats at college/institute level. They said that the colleges/institutes should be allowed to invite admissions to different courses by means of social media, print media and other marketing platforms. The Association requested the Additional Chief Secretary (Health & Medical Education) department to implement the order no. LPA/33/2022 dated 9-3-2002, made by High Court of Jammu & Kashmir regarding the left over seats available in the colleges.
