Govt asks contractors to get NOC from Police for renewal of cards | Purza calls for protest across J&K tomorrow, says contractors are not thieves | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 17: Chairman of J&K Contractors Coordination Committee, Ghulam Jeelani Purza, has asked all the contractors to stage a protest across the Union Territory on April 19 (Tuesday) against the government’s decision asking them to get a no objection certificate from police to get their cards renewed. Talking to reporters here Purza said, “My appeal to all the contractors is to stage a protest at their respective district headquarters against the arbitrary decisions taken by the government.” He said, “The government has imposed a ban on our raw material supply, our payments are pending and now we are being asked to get a clearance from police.” Purza said, “The developmental works are getting hit as we are not being allowed to work freely. Now, we are being asked to get the NOC from Police. We want to tell the government we are not thieves. We are respectable citizens.” |
