Early Times Report

Kishtwar, Apr 17: The Public Representatives of Tehsil Bharath Bagla including Sarpanch Bagla, Bharath A, Bharath B and Social activist who after visiting Higher Secondary School Bharath rued the non availability of teaching and non teaching staff in the school as a result of which the students studying in the school are suffering for the want of the education.
As per the details available with Early Times, 22 posts of teaching and non teaching staff are lying vacant in HSS Bharath which include 7 posts of lectures, one post of Principal, 6 posts of master grade teachers, 2 posts of teachers, one post each of Senior Assistant, Account Assistant, Library Assistant, Lab Assistant, class 4th, Physical Education Teacher and PEM teacher.
While talking to Early Times, the locals Syed Manzoor Hussain from Bagla and Mohd Abdullah Banday from Bharath said that there is no proper staff to run the institute with appropriate aim of providing the quality education to the poor students of this far flung area of Doda District added that not only their is shortage of staff in the school, the school also lacks basic infrastructure and students were forced to sit on ground due to non availability of desks for the students.
They said that non availability of lectures and teachers is the fundamental violation and the basic need in any institution for educating the students.
“There is no proper accommodation like desk etc .
Only few lectures and few teachers are running Higher Secondary School having student enrolment of more than 300- what is more unfortunate and disastrous for us than all this situation as the future lies in the hands of these students” said local Sarpanch.
People claimed that there are various teachers attached in Offices and are not transferred to these areas where the education system is near to an end.
“there is no proper visit of district administration especially DC Doda, education officers like Chief Education officer And Zonal education officers” said social activist Syed Tanvir who claimed that Govt education institutes are becoming deteriorate political hubs where children's belonging to poor families are prepared to work as Bus conductors , drivers and drug consumers and sellers or professional labourers instead of doctors as there is no proper teaching staff, motivational and inspirational teachers who can lead a young generation towards prosperity and success . He also said that a Nation can become self dependent only when it's youths are educated and question the L.G administration that how is it possible to produce Engineer's and doctors from those institutes where there is no Medical and Non medical staff since years.
In higher secondary school Bharath there is only one lecturer for Medical stream who teaches chemistry while at the same time other four subjects have no teachers.
“How can we expect these students can qualify NEET etc. There are various local educated youths having M.Sc ,B.Ed , Net , SET and even P.hd who can work on contractual bases until regular staff is given to us.
They urged LG administration Jammu and Kashmir and District administration Doda to provide lectures for medical and Non medical stream whether permanent or contractual as soon as possible so that our future generation will not become plants without fruit.
“Govt must fulfill genuine demands and do some compassion and justice to the poor people having no capability to send their childrens to study in cities and private schools” said locals added that in the ongoing construction work of school building, substandard material is being used and the department responsible to look after the work has not visited since work started . “Near about Rs. 75 lakhs from the government exchequer has been misused by the department and contractor due to their negligence” alleged locals.
